CLARK KENT'S ROCK AND ROLL REVUE #022 FEAT. BLIZZARD OF KNICKERS/GORDON RAPHAEL/MAXINE AND THE MINIONS

Being in a band myself, this issues self promo scenario was bound to happen sometime. Caving in at issue 022? I can live with that. Before Maxine and the Minions, let's check out:

Blizzard of Knickers

Ludicrousness of the name aside, I hear a very serious Robert Plant influence on the lead vox. But what Rock/Metal vocalist isn’t in some debt to the man?

Perhaps they haven’t been going for too long, since there is only one song up on their Soundcloud and their FACEBOOK PAGE went up winter last year.

Cool.

It’s always worthwhile seeing the potential of a band in embryo.

I figure these guys ought to be pretty tight live and hopefully, they’re as sprightly as the music suggests. I’ll find out when I see them support The Dogbones on Friday 31st Jan.

Maybe you might wanna join me?

Last week I was fortunate enough to meet the humble and straight talking Gordon Raphael of Shoplifter Records. One meeting regarded his biography (as discussed in our interview in issue 18) and the other was in relation to the distribution of a band that I'm proud to present to you. They are called Maxine and the Minions.

From left to Right - Alexis (guitar), Jake (bass), Gordon (Shoplifter Records), John (guitar and vox), Maxine (vox and charisma) and the ever mysterious Chopper (drums).

It looks like full steam ahead on all fronts.

That's it for this week guys and hey, Gordon is always on the look out for bands that wanna record/mix with him.

Comment on the blog and I'll put you in touch.

Next time in Clark Kent’s Rock and Roll Blog:

Electric Press are also supporting The Dogbones. Come back here next week Monday and see what you think of them.
