Gonna Pass Me A Law: A Salute to Tony Award Winner Tonya Pinkins

Tonya Pinkins, a Tony Award winning (1992, Best Featured Actress in a Musical for Jelly's Last Jam) actress perhaps best known for her portrayal of 'Livia Frye' on TV's All My Children, is the REAL DEAL.

I was first introduced to Tonya through her appearance in filmmaker Patrik-Ian Polk's film Noah's Arc: Jumping the Broom. From there, Google became my best friend.

Tonya has graced Broadway stages with her divine talents in shows like Jelly's Last Jam, Play On, and Caroline, Or Change, all for which she was nominated for the Tony. She won for Jelly's Last Jam.

Tonya can be seen most recently on television in recurring roles on 24, All My Children, and Army Wives, and on film in Enchanted, Noah's Arc: Jumping the Broom, and Home.
