Grab those wellies and sunglasses because festival season is fast approaching! Whether you're braving the mud in the countryside or staying in the city, this summer looks set to bring some major moments on the festival circuit. In honour of the upcoming Musical Madness we'll take a little look at what you can expect…
Isle Of Wight
The first major event to kick of things will be the Isle Of Wight festival which takes place from the 13th- 16th of June in erm, the Isle Of Wight. From what a few friends tell me it can be a bitch to get to and don't think you're getting on or off the island if you miss that last boat! Headliners this year include The Stone Roses, The Killers and superstars Bon Jovi. But it's not all about the big rockers as they seem to be catering to all with Devlin and even X Factor winners Little Mix taking to the stage! If X Factor alumni and feather wearing guys named Flowers aren't you're thing then you may want to head to Derby for this years Download Festival on June 14th. Now granted I don't even know who all the headliners are but tales of the times at Download (and the mud!) are infamous and have me reaching for my air guitar and practicing my head banging! With masked madness from the notorious Slipknot and Mum and Dad rock from veterans Iron Maiden I'm sure a great time will be had by all. Rock on! Glastonbury
Now when you think about festivals surely the first thing to pop into your head is Glastonbury! The world renowned music mecca has boasted headliners as diverse as Beyonce and The Kinks- who headlined the first festival in 1970 where tickets cost an unbelievable £1! This year could literally get no bigger as arguably the biggest band in the world The Rolling Stones take to the pyramid stage. With tickets on sale for over £200 and already sold out its set to be another record breaking year for the event. T In The Park
If your musical tastes are a little more Radio 1 than Radio 6 then T in the park could be just the festival for you. With all of your chart favourites on the bill its set to be a full on singalong event. Mumfords and Sons, Rihanna and The Killers will all headline over the three day weekend and even the second, third and forth billed acts are certified hit makers. Dizzee Rascal will be making his first full on festival appearance since the small cameo that was his Hackney weekender slot last year and Stereophonics and Dance maestro David Guetta will be sure to get the crowd going. Latitude 
After their weeklong run in the Tate Modern and no real indication of when they'll be playing again it seems Latitude could be the last chance to catch electronic geniuses Kraftwerk live for a while. The German foursome will take prime position on the line up alongside rockers Bloc Party and indie band Foals. Music isn't the only thing on the menu at Latitude with dance performances, spoken word and comedy showings all available over the 4 day festival (18th- 21st July). One Love Festival
One thing about festivals is always the risk that the weather will be awful and you'll be cold and wet. However, the only thing I can think of that could help ease my pain would be listening to some killer bass- and what other music could soothe the soul like Reggae. The UK's biggest Reggae specialist festival, One Love Festival, returns this year in London with headliners Black Uhuru and U-Roy. With day tickets starting at £40 it sounds like it may be worth jumping on the train to Upminister and going to hear some tunes!
Wireless Festival
If the thought of wading through mud and sleeping in a tent doesn’t appeal to you then there’s always the option of the very urban festival Wireless. Moving this year to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park the Yahoo! sponsored event looks set to really go off with a bang headlined by “Suit and Tie” collaborators Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake. Jay- Z won’t be the only Rock artist on show that night with the UK’s very own Rita Ora set to take to the stage on Sat alongside the super hot right now Kendrick Lamar and Iggy Azalea. With a whole host of other big stars on the line up from the world of Pop, Rap and R and B this is sure to be one big party. Taking place on the weekend commencing July 12th there’s some hope that the weather will hold out long enough to keep the crowd warm well into the night.
