RANDOM: My Birth Place 'JAMAICA'
TODAY I'M MISSING HOME SO I THOUGHT I'D SHARE A PIECE OF IT WITH YOU ALL!
If there was a Jamaican Holloween By Margaret Juliet Bailey
If there was a Jamaican Holloween,
parents would serve grape nut ice cream,
with Bustamantees galore,
From Kingston to the North Shore,
Icy mints, grater cake, cut-cakes and gizzardas
would give the children a real treat,
Keeping them firmly on their feet,
Gum and paradise plum would be the icing on the cakes,
Jamaican children would be more hyperactive than an earthquake,
The rolling calves, and three wheeled coffins wouldn't scare them,
because they would attack with vigor and vim,
They might worry about the boogey woman standing at their
closet doors,
But they'd probably try to befriend the ogre by making s'mores,
Soon they'd be fast friends going between two worlds,
because duppies don't really frighten Jamaican boys and girls.
