Tony Award Winner Tracy Letts' Play 'August: Osage County,' Adapted As A Film Starring Meryl Streep.

August: Osage County is an upcoming 2013 comedy drama film based on Tracy Letts' play of the same name. The film is directed by John Wells, and produced by George ClooneyJean DoumanianGrant Heslov, Steve Traxler and Harvey Weinstein. Its ensemble cast is led by Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts. The film is set to be released on November 8, 2013 US and January 2014 in the UK.

August: Osage County is a darkly comedic play by Tracy Letts. It was the recipient of the 2008 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. The play premiered at the Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago on 28 June 2007, and closed on 26 August 2007. Its Broadway debut was at the Imperial Theater on 4 December 2007 and transferred to the Music Box Theatre on 29 April 2008. The Broadway show closed on 28 June 2009 after 648 performances and 18 previews.

I remember hearing about this play when Phylicia Rashad took over the lead role on Broadway!
