FILM: Julia Pott's Animated Short Film, 'Belly'
I randomly discovered this short this week; and I love it. Belly is directed by New York based British animator and illustrator Julia Pott, and it's a weird and wonderful 'coming of age' story that will instantly hold your attention. I really liked the Britishness of Pott's award winning-animation; the piece was like Beatrix Potter meets Surrealism (if you love Dali, you'll love this). Randomly, this piece really reminds me of one of my favourite films ever: Hayao Miyazaki's My Neighbor Totoro; maybe that's why I really liked it.
