FILM: Kahlil Joseph's Stunning Short Film, 'Wildcat'

kahlil-joseph-wildcat “When you photograph people in colour, you photograph their clothes. But when you photograph people in Black and white, you photograph their souls!”

That Ted Grant quote instantly comes to mind when watching Kahlil Joseph’s new short film Wildcat. The short centres around an African American rodeo, and follows a multitude of characters.

This is a stunning piece of cinema; and I love how its equally stunning soundtrack, from American music producer and rapper Flyng Lotus, gives this masculine and rough subject matter such a serenity and otherworldliness.
