Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Round Up Feat Both New and Seasoned Designers
The Academy of Arts provides an amazing platform to a few students this season, allowing them to present their collection at Mercedes Benz Fashion week. Gwen Shihyao, Nika Tang and Didvik Kuang are some of the designers who saw their creations allowed to grace the runway and we have a sneak peek for you all.
New York Fashion Week didn't leave out the men among us who like to keep it clean and simple. DKNY, Bespoken and All Saints are a few of the brand who decided to keep it simple in style for the public; Nothing to extravagant. Really loved how youthful Bespoken collection was giving it a very trendy look.
Odd and Duckie Brown gave us trendy looks. They favoured AMPLE clothing rather than a fitted cut to their clothes. They worked with layers as well giving us streetstyle meet Haute in their collection.
Kenneth Cole found their inner rock stars and gave us a collection with a punk edge to it. One of my favourite from fashion week so far. This Orange suits screams spring/summer. Then came General Idea who kept it very monochromatic and mixed it horizontals and vertical lines. Desigual's collection didn't disappoint. A lot of colors could be seen throughout the collection. Billy Reid kept it very casual. Trina Turk on the other hand, reminded us of the season the runways are presenting with patterns and colors everywhere in the collection.
We most certainly saved the best for last. Public School, Kye and Micheal Bastian were my favourite collections so far. Public School is everything I wish to incorporate in my closet. Public school was simple yet very trendy, it looked like the perfect clothes to have yourself featured on the best streetstyle blogs across the internet. Kye reminded me of something straight from the 90s early 00s reminding me of that era where hip hop culture impacted the fashion world and it was never the same after. Clothes are nothing simple and we can see the designer made sure you were noticed in their collection. Micheal Bastian's collection was EXACTLY what I love in fashion. It was very professional, yet made sure that it wasn't bland and boring from the suits to the accessories.
