MUSIC VIDEO: Mykki Blanco's 'Feeling Special'

American newcomer Mykki Blanco released his video for Feeling Special yesterday, and I'm loving what the American rapper is serving. Although the Californian star is serving hip hop with a shock-rock crossdressing twist, his music is not at all incongruous in my iPod's Hip Hop collection; I see no less authenticity in Blanco as the music of Hip Hop greats like Immortal Technique; the music is honest and raw.

Listening to Blanco feels like i'm listening to 90's Lil Kim with a masculine edge. The new video was filmed on a recent visit to London, and directed by Danny Sangra. One of the things that stands out most in the video is that Blanco has got British singer/rapper Rowdy Superstar in the video; Superstar, who makes a cameo, has been on my radar for many years. I'd definitely love to see a collaboration between the two artists.
