Nokia Lumia's Live Music Session series, Feat. Everything Everything, Dora Martin and more
Last night The Street Gypsies were invited down to the last of Nokia Lumia's Live Music Session series, headlined by Mercury Music Prize nominees, Everything Everything. After being picked up by clipper from London Bridge's city Pier, guest & competition winners were driven along the Thames before arriving at the events location, London's only surviving lighthouse, The Chainstore at Trinity Buoy Wharf, continuing the seemingly 'Sea' theme. The view of the dome from this unfamiliar location created a sense of surrealism, though that could very well have just been the early effects of the constant flow of free alcohol that greeted us upon arrival.
Live performances were led by alternative folk singer, Nick Jackson (who you could be forgiven for mistaking for Ed Sheeran vocally) warmed up the crowd with his acoustic guitar set; and quirky R&B duo Dora Martin had guests shoulder bopping throughout to their true to British, vocally powered, soulful cuts. Throughout the night it was apparent the Nokia Lumia stood its ground against top range SLR's, with its 41 megapixel sensor and reinvented zoom, not to mention it's luminous colour, you couldn't miss this new generation of smart phone even if you wanted to.
I briefly snacked on what was possibly THE most amazing hotdog I've tasted in my entire life, courtesy of Engine foods, before making my way back into the main room for the finale; an energetic, crowd moving set from Everything Everything. Clearly the most anticipated set of the night with the room being so packed I could barely get a decent view of them, but the surrounding atmosphere & vibe were enough to keep me hyped up. Definitely a great way to round up a pretty sweet night!
Special shutout to our friends over at Mission PR, Job well done once again!
