Let’s rewind to 1999 with Macy Gray’s I Try. The song was co-written by the American soul singer-songwriter and released as the second single from her mega-platinum debut album On How Life Is. At the 2001 Grammy Awards, the song won Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, and is regarded as Gray’s biggest hit to date.
