OLD: Janis Joplin's Recording Session for 'Summertime' ('68)

Get into this behind-the-scenes video from 1968 of Janis Joplin and her band recording their chill-inducing version of the Gershwin classic 'Summertime,' off their 'Cheap Thrills' album.

Love her vocals on this song.

I absolutely dig Janis Joplin, and have since high school! I love this "peek behind the curtain." Janis was a handful but she knew what she wanted!

Janis Lyn Joplin (January 19, 1943 – October 4, 1970) was an American singer-songwriter. Joplin first rose to prominence in the late 1960s as the lead singer of the psychedelic-acid rock band Big Brother and the Holding Company, and later as a solo artist with her more soulful and bluesy backing groups, The Kozmic Blues Band and The Full Tilt Boogie Band.

Janis left us on October 4, 1970, at the age of 27.

Gone WAY too soon. But her music remains. A divine testament to her legacy!
