UK Garage Photographer, Ewen Spencer, talks to Vice Mag

Some of you may recognise the work of Ewen Spencer, photographer behind grime scene book, Open Mic, and the guy who did the album photos for The Streets’ Original Pirate Material. His work usually captures the heart, soul and sweaty parties of different youth subcultures. There’s a real nostalgic edge to it, but you can also draw parallels between the young, underground scenes gone by and the same raw, creative energy of young people partying today.

Spencer has a new book out, Brandy & Coke, documenting the early days of the UK garage scene in its entire crisp suited and Reebok Classic booted glory. Some beautiful images are below, but also read the interview he did with Vice Magazine here.
