FASHION: TSG's Fashion Editor Styles Joel Culpepper for 'Heaven' Video

I currently style up-coming artist Joel Culpepper; recently named 'The One To Watch' by MTV, BET, BBC 1Xtra & most recently BBC Introducing.

Joel is a very interesting artist to style, he has a way of confidently owning his unique identity; mixing old and new skool styles together. Born and bread in South East London, Joel provides music listeners with an alternative and distinctive sound. His brand of Hip Hop – Soul infused music, is undeniably a breath of fresh air to the music industry.

After working tirelessly on his upcoming debut EP 'SkyDive' Joel has now released track No.3 'Heaven' in which we shot a music video for also. Was very excited for this project as it was welcomed by the one & only Quest Love where he held a world premiere on both his website's OkayFuture.com & OkayPlayer.com on Weds 29th May.

The styling for the video was based around the era of the late 1960s early 1970s. I had Joel Culpepper and his band The Transformers dressed in brands Paul Costelloe, Topman, Lambretta, American Apparel and Herring Shoes. The aim was to achieve a sophisticated romantic setting, so I had Joel kitted out in a dapper teal coloured suit which adds extra tones and depth to the aquarium feel with the swimming pool scenes. Joels Mother kindly made the lovely white flower pinned on his suit.

It was such an amazing project to be apart of working with director Abi Moore. Its been a long time coming so please... Enjoy this breath taking song and visuals, in which Mr Culpepper takes you back to a place that can only be... 'Heaven'.
